A Brooklyn Nursery Design
I'm so excited to finally have a new project to showcase on my site. I recently had the Brooklyn Nursery that I designed last year photographed by Dorothée of Belathée Photography.
If you can believe it, baby Emily is now 14 months old and loves her room. It's fun to see the nursery being used and lived in. Sadly the family is moving to San Francisco soon. When we were designing the space together, we chose to invest in the items that the family could take with them. Which is why we chose to keep the shell of the space pretty neutral. My favorite elements in the space are the tufted rocking chair, antique rug and gold leafed mirror. The rocking chair is The Radcliffe Rocker from Pottery Barn and was chosen because we figure it can have a life in another room at some point, rather than a glider which typically feels very nurse purpose driven in design. The rug was from E Carpet Gallery, one of my favorite sites for vintage and one-of-a-kind rugs. The gold leaf mirror was a Wayfair find and looks much more expensive than it actually is. Lastly, the dresser was purchased from an antique store and given a new life with a neutral, bright white and new brass and bronze pulls.
