Our New York Pied à Terre
It's been a few months since I moved, and in that time I've been back and forth between New York and Seattle at least once each month. Each visit to New York, I'm whittling away the progress, painting the shelves (not yet ready for their closeup) and purchasing little elements here and there. I think I can finally say, that we're starting to make some solid progress in both homes. Though the house is still missing a few major elements, in New York I feel like we're almost there.
Before we moved I wrote a post on Fourth Floor Walk Up about how I was planning to decorate the apartment to evoke a Parisian Pied à terre. Inspired mostly by the minimalist, unfussy decor of spaces that bring relax and ease to their visitors, I wanted to create a similar mood in my apartment. It's super minimal in regards to any spaces that I've lived in, the palette is also minimal, yet feels very New York in manner. With a foundation of light grays and off-whites, hints of muted greens, and accents of black, gold and leopard. In my opinion, it the perfect signature style of any New York gal, right?
